ProInspire Launch Party was a big success!

On Monday we hosted ProInspire’s Launch Party at Lima Restaurant and Lounge in Washington D.C. More than 70 people attended the event and there was alot of excitement about the Inspire Fellows program. Guests included Board members, hiring partners, supporters, and friends of ProInspire. We introduced the pilot class of Inspire Fellows and shared our plans to grow to 15 Fellows in 2010. Check out pictures from the event on our facebook page.

During the event, I spoke about my inspiration to start ProInspire in 2008 when I learned about the leadership deficit facing the nonprofit sector. Nonprofits are increasingly looking for analytical talent, and interest from business professionals to work for nonprofits is growing. ProInspire serves as a bridge between nonprofits and business professionals.

Board Member James Weinberg, Founder and CEO of Commongood Careers, spoke about his experience recruiting for nonprofit organizations. James said the need to attract new people to the sector will continue to grow once the economy rebounds and nonprofits face talent challenges that existed before the recession. James also asked all attendees to commit as founding supporters for ProInspire.

Finally Dave Wilkinson, Executive Director of City First Enterprises (CFE), spoke about his experience as a hiring partner for the Inspire Fellows program. Dave said that talent is critical for CFE to achieve its mission. He found that the Inspire Fellows program provided them access to socially-minded professionals from top investment banks and consulting firms, which would be much harder to find on their own.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the event!
