Inspire Fellows Program
ProInspire recruits outstanding business professionals to spend one year working in a strategic or analytical role at a nonprofit or public-sector organization in Washington D.C.  We provide training and professional development to ensure their successful transition into the social sector. Through this program, ProInspire aims to build analytical capacity in nonprofit organizations, and to expand the talent pool in the sector. 

How does the Fellowship work?
Hiring Partners: ProInspire partners with high performing nonprofits in Washington D.C. that can utilize a Fellow's skills. Hiring partners include organizations in economic development, education, international development, and social entrepreneurship.
Recruiting: ProInspire recruits top talent through partnerships with consulting firms, investment banks, and other recruiting channels.
Selection: ProInspire conducts a rigorous selection process to identify finalists who are invited for Interview Days in Washington D.C. Hiring partners interview finalists and select the Fellow they would like to hire.
Professional Development: ProInspire provides Fellows a robust professional development program throughout the year, including monthly workshops, coaching, and mentorship. More details on the professional development program are below.

Who is an Inspire Fellow?
Typical Inspire Fellows have 2-5 years work experience at top-tier consulting firms, investment banks, private equity firms and corporations –and are looking to build a career in the social sector. Fellows have skills in analysis, financial modeling, project management and strategic thinking through their work experience and training. Finalists for the 2009 class came from Bain, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and other top firms. See bios of the 2009 Inspire Fellows.

How much are Fellows paid?
Hiring partners pay the Fellow a $40,000 annual salary plus health benefits.
 
What are the selection criteria?

Successful candidates have:
• A minimum of two years of business experience
• Passion for using their business skills to have a positive impact on society
• Humility and desire to learn from experienced nonprofit professionals
• Comfort with ambiguity
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly
• Experience in one or more business area, including finance, strategy, marketing, operations, information technology and general management
• Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to live in Washington D.C. for the program
Final selection of Inspire Fellows is made by hiring partners based on their needs and culture fit.
