Mareeha Niaz

Manager, Programs and Leadership Development, Independent Sector

Mareeha Niaz is the manager of programs and leadership development at Independent Sector, where she maintains a broad portfolio of initiatives including nonprofit governance and ethics, equity, fellowships, awards, and peer learning. Previously she served for three years at the Embassy of Pakistan where she managed a department under the diplomatic wing working to meet the needs of the American-Pakistani population. Mareeha is passionate about food security, racial equity, and mental health. She currently serves on the board of Common Good City Farm in Washington DC. If you want to find Mareeha, she’s often cooking or gardening in her Eckington neighborhood. Mareeha participated in the ProInspire Leadership Institute during fall of 2019.
