Year Up

Working in youth development and advocacy for Year Up, the Children’s Defense Fund, and Big Brothers Big Sisters, Allison Alt brings a powerful mix of policy experience, legal expertise, direct-service, program, and advocacy experience for and on behalf of youth. Allison has worked across party lines with state and national youth-serving partners. She has extensive experience working with corporate, foundation, and public partners to raise revenue for youth leadership and workforce development at Year Up. Allison began her career at Generations United, mobilizing advocates on behalf of children on the grassroots and national level. Considering this her calling, Allison created her first youth project at age 17. An attorney, Allison’s specialties include children’s rights and juvenile justice. As a constant mentor to up-and-coming youth leaders, her vision for the youth movement is one in which our young adults use their collective power to uplift humanity through civic engagement and service.
