Griselda Macias

Program Director, New Futures

An Alumni from the Managing for Success 2017 DC Cohort, Griselda currently serves as the Program Director at New Futures, a nonprofit that works to propel under-served young people through a short-term post secondary degree and into rewarding careers across the Washington, DC region.  In her role Griselda manages and supports her team in providing high quality academic and career advising + support to all their students and alumni with the goal of launching their in demand careers that will lead to financial stability. Prior to New Futures, she served as the College Access Coordinator at The Latin American Youth Center, where she managed two auxiliary higher education programs: The Bard College Clemente Course and New Futures Scholarship. In this role she provided financial, mentoring, and college-readiness support in an effort to encourage successful transition and completion of their post-secondary programs. As a first generation college graduate, Griselda began her passion and career for inspiring low-income and students of color to access a higher education while working at The Education Trust a non-profit national advocacy organization, that advocates for closing the achievement gap. Griselda earned her B.A. in Communications, Public Relations and minor in Political Science from Carroll University in Waukesha, WI.
