Development Manager, CASA for Children of DC

Katie Schoen is a ProInspire Fellow at Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of DC, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting court appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused and neglected child in the DC foster care system can be safe, establish permanence, and thrive. As Development Manager, Katie is responsible for increasing individual donors and corporate partnerships, developing additional volunteer engagement opportunities, and creating and fulfilling the organization’s first formal resource development plan. Prior to CASA, Katie was a Senior Account Manager with YourCause LLC., a CSR software company, where she consulted corporations on CSR best practices, co-led the development of the company’s impact measurement initiative, and supported the processing of donations and programming of volunteer and giving operations for global corporations. Katie graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University with degrees in Corporate Communications/Public Affairs and English and was named Outstanding Graduate in Corporate Communications. A big fan of new adventures, great books, and top notch music, she spends her free time with friends and family exploring DC.
