Melissa LaReau

Program Officer, Millennium Challenge Corporation

Melissa is currently working at Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), a US foreign aid agency with a mission to reduce poverty through economic growth. She is the Program Officer for Mongolia, Georgia, and Sri Lanka. Previously, Melissa worked with the Women’s Microfinance Initiative (WMI), a nonprofit in Uganda, where she served as the East Africa Finance Director. She was responsible for creating and implementing accounting and reporting systems for WMI’s loan hubs in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. Prior to WMI, Melissa was a senior transfer pricing economist at Ernst & Young, LLP. Melissa holds a Master’s degree in international affairs from Texas A&M’s Bush School of Government and Public Service with a focus in international economic development and multinational enterprises, and Bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science from Hartwick College (NY). She also holds a professional certificate in photography from the Washington School of Photography and is certified to teach English as a Foreign Language.
