ProInspire Selected for the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Social Sector Talent Pipelines Strategy and Learning Lab

Initiative to build talent in the social sector involves small group of leading organizations focused on talent development

ProInspire is pleased to be selected for a new initiative announced by the Annie E. Casey Foundation aimed at developing the next generation’s social sector leadership. The Social Sector Talent Pipelines Strategy & Learning Lab is a yearlong, interactive, seminar-based program that supports the Foundation’s goal to identify future leaders who reflect our country’s evolving demographics, orient them toward results-based outcomes, and help them apply a race-equity lens to their work. The effort also seeks to create pathways for emerging leaders who might not have access to education, networking and resources to identify and inhabit key social sector positions.

Drawing on the Foundation’s results-based leadership development approach, whose principle is to align people and resources in the pursuit of positive, measurable results, the lab is delivered through six seminars focused on developing individual leadership, increasing organizational capacity, and fostering collaboration on field-level talent pipeline challenges. Inherent in the approach is the opportunity for participants to take the strategies back to their organizations and apply them in real-time.

“As social sector organizations strive to improve their results, millions of children continue to face risks of poor outcomes,” said Ashley Stewart, Senior Associate for Talent and Leadership Development at the Annie E. Casey Foundation. “Through the Talent Pipelines Strategy & Learning Lab, each of these organizations will declare how they intend to lead the sector in attracting, developing and retaining results-driven, diverse talent to tackle our most intractable social issues.”

In its announcement, the Annie E. Casey Foundation highlighted ProInspire’s efforts to apply learnings in the context of developing a results statement and defining its target population. More details about these efforts can be found in ProInspire’s recent post on the topic. ProInspire Founder and CEO, Monisha Kapila said, “ProInspire is honored to be selected for this opportunity alongside fellowship programs and social sector organizations for which we feel great respect and admiration – including AmeriCorps Alums, Management Leadership for Tomorrow, Public Allies and Teach for America. The Learning Lab is a unique opportunity for our team to learn about Results Based Leadership; engage with peers, funders, policymakers, and researchers; and ultimately contribute to advancing the field’s work in developing talent to drive social impact.”
