ProInspire Leadership Institute (PLI)

Program Overview

The ProInspire Leadership Institute (or PLI) offers immersive workshops designed to support leaders of all backgrounds in learning, practicing, and visioning liberatory leadership. Participants in all PLI immersive experiences will build connections and relationships with other social sector leaders while engaging in targeted learning, sharing, and skills building. PLI is offered virtually for public programs and private clients.

Our 2025 offerings include:

I feel like I learned a ton about how to effectively deliver learning and manage conversations and create safe spaces just by watching ya’ll lead this. I think this is the most well-facilitated training I’ve ever attended. And over Zoom at that! So huge kudos to all of you for that.”

2025 PLI Public Offerings

We’re excited to share our newest public offering–our PLI: Plug In and Power Up Series! Plug into one, two, or all three of our sessions, and power your leadership. Save your virtual seat and register below:

Session Topics and Dates:

  • Clarifying Your Why in Shifting Times – Thursday, May 22 (12-1:30pm ET/ 9-10:30am PT) – What is your “why” as you navigate this shifting political landscape? This session will be grounded in a self-reflection activity to strengthen your leadership for racial equity impact and ground in your personal north star.
  • Transition as a Catalyst for Transformation – Thursday, August 7 (1-2:30pm ET/ 10-11:30am PT) – How can we manage in moments of uncertainty and transition? In this session, we will offer practices that support alchemizing fear and uncertainty into sites of courage and possibility in our leadership.
  • Recommit to the Road Towards Reimagined Possibilities Friday, September 26 (12-1:30pm ET/ 9-10:30am PT) – Where are the rest stops on the road to reimagined possibilities? As we navigate this administration, this session will provide a guided space to reset and reflect on what is needed to resource ourselves and deepen our commitment to racial equity and justice.

Cost: Our 3 sessions are free and open to all to attend. We do not want cost to be a barrier, but if you are willing and able to make a suggested donation of $75/session, your support will help us keep our public offerings accessible and responsive to the evolving needs of leaders–especially in times when these spaces are most needed. However, a donation is not required to attend. Optional donations can be made here.

Save your virtual seat for one, two, or all three of our sessions below! Be on the lookout for a calendar invite from our team for every session you register for. We look forward to co-creating space with you.

About Our Private PLI Offerings

PLI: Managing People and Power (PLI MPP)

With over seven cohorts now completed, PLI Managing People and Power is designed to engage people and project managers in ProInspire’s leading self and leading people practices for Race Equity Impact. During PLI MPP, you will explore and deepen a racial equity analysis around the power you hold when in management. By engaging in self-reflection and interactive activities with other participants, you will learn tools, practice strategies, and vision around liberatory ways to lead projects and teams.

You should reach out if:
  • You want to participate in a leadership development program that infuses a racial equity lens into its curriculum
  • You want to become a more effective leader and increase your self-awareness of your power on teams
  • Develop your leadership style to take a personalized approach to meet the needs of others within your sphere of influence
  • You are managing people or projects and want to build authentic, impactful connections in virtual space with one another so you can brainstorm, coach, and vision together
  • You enjoy exploring various digital tools and using virtual platforms for learning, reflection, and interaction
  • Having a mix of in-session and before/after session learning opportunities energizes you
  • You are looking for a blend of analysis and action steps to apply in your day to day work

PLI offers both workshops and fellowships. The PLI BIPOC Fellowship is a program designed specifically for emerging leaders who are Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color. Similar to the Workshop, this will be held over the course of three days. Participants in this space will have curriculum tailored to processing the experience of being a leader of color. Through the Fellowship structure, we offer a space where participants can work with others who are also navigating identity, privilege, and power while holding a marginalized racial identity.

In contrast, PLI General Workshops are open to participants of all backgrounds. PLI General Workshops are designed to reflect the opportunities that come with having a multi-racial space where people can connect with others who hold different identities. We have historically seen racially diverse cohorts for PLI General Workshops and we encourage BIPOC participants to register for whichever space feels right for them.

PLI: Exploring Identity (PLI EI)

The ProInspire Leadership Institute: Exploring Identity workshop is designed to engage emerging leaders in ProInspire’s leading self practices for Race Equity Impact. During PLI EI, you will deepen and strengthen your leadership through storytelling and visioning around ancestral reverence, co-liberation, and thriving at all levels. Through self-reflection and interactive activities with other participants, you will practice storytelling, explore the power of ancestor reverence, identify your purpose in movement work, and better understand your relationship to rest and self-determination.

You should reach out if:
  • You want to participate in a leadership development program that infuses a racial equity lens into its curriculum
  • You want to become a more effective leader by creating a deeper connection to your familial and community history
  • Develop your understanding of self as a key component of having an authentic leadership style
  • You are an emerging leader and want to consider impactful questions about who you are in a virtual space with other people who are on a similar journey
  • You enjoy exploring various digital tools and using virtual platforms for learning, reflection, and interaction
  • Having a mix of in-session and before/after session learning opportunities energizes you
  • You are looking for a blend of analysis and visioning around liberatory leadership to take back to your communities

The resources (articles, charts, video, etc.) were especially valuable because I will be able to refer back to them and incorporate them into my work and share them. The facilitation was excellent — a really good mix of styles, personalities, and strengths. Alas, I can’t shrink y’all and carry you around with me.”

We also offer both PLI General Workshops and PLI BIPOC Fellowships.

Program Structure

PLI: Managing People and Power and PLI: Exploring Identity

ProInspire Leadership Institute (PLI) participants will engage in three consecutive full-day virtual workshops to develop key competencies and core skills needed to achieve greater social impact and further advance individual career growth. Participants are from all levels within an organization and serve in different roles.

During the immersive, they will establish a network of support and engage with their peers in coaching and skill practice. After the program ends, participants will have the option to participate in webinars on leadership development topics and join the growing and vibrant ProInspire Network for continued opportunities for learning, growth, and connection.

Your facilitation allowed people to feel safe and comfortable sharing, to be present, and for people to connect deeply with one another and build greater community during these remote work times. Not easy to accomplish in a Zoom format. I can’t wait to recommend it to my friends and colleagues.
